You are always welcome to come visit us to see our quality first hand.
George Didden Greenhouses Inc. is a fourth-generation, family-owned business that began in 1914. We are dedicated to supplying our customers with high-quality plant material, provided with service and integrity. We grow a wide variety of annuals (over 700 in all) in market paks, pots and hanging baskets. We are members of two business associations: SAF (Society of American Florists) and PLNA (Pennsylvania Landscape and Nursery Association).
You will find years of experience and expertise at our facility:

As we become more aware of ways we can help our planet by using sustainable and ecologically-responsible practices, we are adapting our business methods. We believe that practicing environmental integrity is important in today's "disposable" society. Here are some of ways we are caring for our environment:
1. Our Jumbo Market Paks are biodegradable. The natural-looking fiber paks are made from recycled newspaper that breathes. They hold moisture longer than plastic paks, but have no wet "feet". This leads to a better shelf life and quality for your bedding plants. The paks can be composted; they break down best when kept moist. Our plastic trays can be returned to us.
2. We compost our extraneous plant material, and make the compost available free to our local community. This reduces the amount of waste we produce. It also creates a beneficial soil enhancer for area gardeners.
3. Recently, Northern Montgomery County Recycling Commission awarded our greenhouses an award for “Excellence in Recycling in Hatfield Borough”. In addition to recycling cardboard and plastic, several of our new houses allow for the reuse of water. (Contributing Our Efforts to Katrina Clean-up)
In February of 2003, several members of the greenhouse staff traveled to Mississippi to take part in the post-Hurricane Katrina rebuilding effort. Proudly sporting their green "George Didden Greenhouses" shirts, the group worked tirelessly doing demolition and general cleanup during their weeklong stay.
Although many of the plants we produce come from our own cuttings, we also work with several excellent suppliers to provide us with exceptional-quality plants, such as Wave Petunias, Christmas Poinsettias, and hardy fall mums. Visit their websites to find out more information about the plants they supply, as well as tips for how to care for their plants.
